Falcon Branch Open Daily During Lunch

BOLC Falcon Branch

The Falcon Branch, a new, school-based branch of the Bank of Lincoln County, at Lincoln County High School. This new branch is located adjacent to the cafeteria and is open during lunch period every day. The Falcon Branch is available to all students, faculty, and staff of LCHS, but is not open to the public. The branch is run fully by students through the Career Technical Education Department. Checking and savings accounts, as well as Christmas and Vacation Club savings accounts are offered to both students, teachers, and staff at this branch. They can make deposits, cash checks, or utilize the fully functioning ATM, which requires no fee from anyone with a Bank of Lincoln County account.

“The Bank of Lincoln County is so excited about this new endeavor. We researched this over two years and have been working with the CTE Department and the Board for over a year to make this a reality,” said Gay G. Dempsey, CEO. “We see this as an investment in our community and a way for us to give back and support our students. Any costs associated with the establishment of the branch have been fully funded by the Bank of Lincoln County.” Dempsey also added that “All transactions and paperwork are completed by the student workers in the branch, but account opening, and daily balancing are entered and validated by the bank staff each day. The students do not have access to customer’s information.”

The Falcon Branch was formed primarily to bring more financial education and awareness to the youth of our community, which has always been a primary goal of the Bank of Lincoln County. Students will have the opportunity to earn Work Based Learning credit, to learn about financial operations, business soft skills, and customer service. This will also be an opportunity for students to learn about working in a bank and the many different opportunities available with financial careers.
